The High School of Art and Design is a community of creators and artists unrivaled in NYC and beyond. We are exceptional because of the effort we put into constantly improving and refining our skills and evolving our identities.

None of this would be possible without NYC’s best Parent Teacher Association. The A&D PTA champions our young professionals at every stage of their academic careers. By creating FanfaireNYC, the planning committee and our PTA have created a clear point of connection between industry professionals, leaders in creative design and an adoring public who know quality artwork when they see it. FanfaireNYC is yet another platform for A&D community members to be unapologetically themselves and to thrive in a safe space of inspiration. Welcome!

Principal, High School of Art & Design

Maximillian Re-Sugiura is the proud principal of the High School of Art and Design. Now in his 5th year in leading NYC's finest young professionals, Principal Max has worked closely with his community to refine and grow opportunities within Career and Technical Education. As a working artist and creative, Principal Max finds points of contact with each of A&D's 8 Visual Arts Majors and constantly seeks opportunities to engage with and support NYC's greatest creative community.

Assistant Principal of Art & CTE

Mr. Pasetsky is a seasoned professional with a rich background in the publishing industry. In 2006, he brought his wealth of experience to the High School of Art and Design, where he embarked on a fulfilling journey as an educator. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Pasetsky has demonstrated his versatility by teaching a diverse range of subjects, including tech, freshman foundation, graphic design, animation, and cartooning.

Mr. Pasetsky has actively contributed to the Art and Design High School community in various capacities. He has served as the advisor for the yearbook club, a member of the School Leadership Team, and was the COSA/Senior Advisor. This year, Mr. Pasetsky has taken on the role as the Assistant Principal of Art & CTE (Career and Technical Education). A.P. Pasetsky plans to use his professional experience and pedagogical skills to continue on the path laid down by his predecessors in making the High School of Art & Design the best arts high school in the country.
